Happy Black Friday! 11.23.2018

Hello there, and happy thanksgiving! There were a couple things that happened this week, so I’ll just go through it all. I think I’ve mostly mastered 3 of the pronoun charts in Fijian, and can put sentences together without help, which I am very proud of. Elder Collier was engaged on Wednesday? It was all due to Sister Rouland and Elder Ceja replying to each other without knowing it was them through paper airplane communication. Unfortunately, Sister Young, the bride to be, decided that Elder Collier was too short, so it was called off.

The elders have decided that I am yalokaukauwa. In English, they decided I am a rather stubborn person. I’m slowly picking up on vocabulary, bit not as fast as I’d like though, but I’m working on it.

So, you remember Emma, the Cardboard Girlfriend (Patent Pending)? 



Anyways, turns out, Elder Suguturaga went to school with her, and she’s actually at the MTC right now. So a couple days ago,  Elder Collier got a picture with her, in normal missionary clothing, after explaining the Cardboard Girlfriend thing. 



Yesterday, we had a couple of devotionals, and the first one was with Elder Ucdtorf. He talked a lot about giving thanks to the Lord in all things, as well as repentance. One of the things that stood out to me was after we have repented, we still remember our sins, but we remember them to act as a safeguard against falling into the same trap. We remember our sins to protect us, but God remembers them no more.

The other devotional was with Tanner James, and he’s really good at singing. I recommend that Savannah should listen to him. He sang  several hymns, and a song called I Heard Him Come. It was such a powerful song talking about Jesus Christ. If you ever get the opportunity to, I would definitely listen to it.

Well, got to go do laundry and prepare a lesson in Fijian, so I might talk to you later

                                      Bula Vinaka! Well, good news, we have some pictures!  Yay! Bad news, I forgot to take many, so we have 3! Also bad news, I've been hit by a car. This past week has been pretty good. I celebrated my birthday, it was kind of weird without having to celebrate 3 in a row like we used to do, but hey, I'm 1 year older now. And maybe wiser, we'll have to see on that part. Other good news, I am feeling pretty healthy. However, Elder Jessee wasn't feeling the best, so we had to go down to Nausori town to go to the doctors. He's doing good now, but we went on my birthday, and the Zone Leaders said, "Hey, let's go find food for your birthday." And so it begins... Mission Papers Submitted:                 June 24, 2018 Mission Call Assigned:                      June 28, 2018 Mission Call Received and Opened:  July 9, 2018 Wow!  That was fast!  Justin will be going to the Provo MTC on October 31, 2018 to serve in the Fiji, Suva Mission speaking Fijian (or at least attempting to) for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  When Tommy heard that Justin had been called to serve in Fiji...he dropped everything and came over in his sulu to share some memories with Justin.  It was incredible!  He even gave Justin his very first sulu and Fijian Book of Mormon.  We couldn't have asked for a better finish to an amazing day!

Well...I Guess This is It! 12/7/2018

As the title says, this is it. I'm leaving the MTC in the next couple days, and to be honest, I'm stressing just a little bit. But I guess that's normal. My experience here has been really great for the most part, but I'm also a little ready to leave. The problem is I'm not exactly ready to go. But I guess that's alright, seeing as I'm leaving on Monday.  I've decided that there haven't exactly been a whole lot of pictures, and there probably won't be a whole ton in this e-mail, but I have decided that Elder Collier could be one of the models on the guidelines for mission appropriate clothing. Unless you consider his feet, which wear the Jerusalem Cruisers. Seeing as I for some reason can't send pictures right now, I'll just tell you about the rest of my week.
